Picnic in Jonkershoek valley

The Explore Collection have sought out various sites of natural beauty that the general tourist would not usually have access to and would not have been seen often .One such new site is at the top of the Jonkershoek Valley (Stellenbosch). Here we have built a heli pad and a picnic / viewing site that boasts breath-taking views up and down the Jonkershoek Valley. The helicopter flight departs from the V and A Waterfront Helipad . After take off you fly across the Cape Flats towards the majestic Stellenbosch mountains. After flying over the town of Stellenbosch you navigate up to the top of the Jonkershoek Valley where the picnic site is located . Lunch is made up by our own chef Eva to the guests dietary requirements . Enjoy a range of drinks including our world renown Stellenbosch wines . Those who wish to walk should bring walking shoes and some sun protection. This is a brand new experience and one which we urge all visitors looking for unique experiences to consider.

Check In Time

Please check in 20-30 minutes prior to your scheduled Take Off time. This will allow enough time for us to take weights, conduct a safety briefing and issue tickets. After this has been conducted you can relax on the viewing deck and take some great pre-flight pictures and enjoy the atmosphere.

Best Pictures

For the best pictures we recommend that you wear darker coloured clothing as whites reflect off the inside of the windows and can spoil that epic shot.

Seating

Please be aware that seating allocation on all our sharing flights are done according to weight and balance which is done during your safety briefing and ticketing. Should you want to choose your own seats you can book an Exclusive Flight at the cost of one additional seat and you are guaranteed the ‘best seats in the house.

Weather

All flights are weather dependent. Should the conditions not be ideal for flying we will try to reschedule to the next best available flight window. Note that the temperature in the sky is exactly the same as on the ground in case you are wondering what to wear.
